Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using ASL Connection's website or services. By submitting a service request, creating an interpreter account, or otherwise using our platform, you agree to these terms.

1. About ASL Connection

ASL Connection LLC ("ASL Connection," "we," "us," or "our") is a Washington State limited liability company operating as an ASL interpreter referral agency. We connect organizations and individuals seeking ASL interpreting services with qualified independent contractor interpreters and CDIs.

Service requests

When you submit a service request, you are requesting that ASL Connection locate and assign a qualified interpreter for the specified date, time, location, and requirements. Submission of a request does not guarantee fulfillment — ASL Connection will make every reasonable effort to fill your request and will notify you promptly if we are unable to do so.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation fees may apply depending on the notice provided:

Cancellation fees may be waived at ASL Connection's discretion for documented emergencies.

Payment terms

Invoices are issued following completion of services. Payment is due within 30 days of invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing. Late payments may be subject to a 1.5% monthly interest charge. Clients are responsible for all reasonable collection costs including attorney fees if payment is not received.

Accuracy of information

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when submitting service requests. Inaccurate information that results in a mismatch, no-show, or other service failure may result in charges as described above.

4. For interpreters and CDIs

Independent contractor status

Important: Interpreters working with ASL Connection are independent contractors, not employees. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, equipment, and professional compliance. ASL Connection will issue Form 1099 for payments made to you during the tax year.

Payment

ASL Connection processes interpreter payments after receipt of a completed, authorized invoice from the interpreter. Payment is typically processed within 30 days of invoice authorization. Interpreters are responsible for submitting accurate invoices including correct dates, times, and any additional charges.

HIPAA compliance

Interpreters working medical assignments must sign ASL Connection's Business Associate Agreement (BAA) prior to any medical assignment. All interpreters are expected to maintain confidentiality of any health information they encounter in the course of their work.

5. Intellectual property

All content on the ASL Connection website and portal — including text, design, logos, and software — is owned by ASL Connection LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content without our written permission.

6. Limitation of liability

ASL Connection acts as an intermediary between clients and interpreters. We are not liable for:

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ASL Connection LLC, its owner, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of our services, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

8. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Pierce County, Washington, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

9. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify active users of material changes. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
