Terms of Service

ASL Connection LLC  ·  Effective date: June 10, 2026

These Terms govern your use of ASL Connection's website and platform. If you have a signed agreement with us — an Independent Contractor Agreement (interpreters) or a Service Agreement (clients) — that signed agreement controls the specifics of your relationship with us, and these Terms fill in around it.

1. Who we are and what this covers

ASL Connection LLC ("ASL Connection," "we," "us," or "our") is a Washington State limited liability company providing American Sign Language interpreter referral and agency services. These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to everyone who uses our website at aslconnection.com, the Interpreter Portal, and the client request tools (together, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Your account

4. Interpreters: independent contractor relationship

Interpreters who work through ASL Connection do so as independent contractors, not as employees, partners, or agents of ASL Connection. The specific terms of that relationship — including rates, pay, scheduling, conflicts, and cancellation — are set out in the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) you sign with us, which controls if anything here conflicts with it. Accepting an assignment is a commitment to fulfill it according to the booking and your ICA.

5. Clients: requesting interpreter services

When you request services, you agree to provide accurate assignment details so we can match a qualified interpreter. Confirmations, billing rates, cancellation windows, travel and reimbursement pass-throughs, and related terms are governed by your Service Agreement with ASL Connection, which controls if anything here conflicts with it. Our cancellation policy is applied agency-wide and consistently across clients.

6. The role we play

ASL Connection coordinates access — we match requests with qualified, credentialed interpreters and manage the logistics around an assignment. We take reasonable care in vetting and matching interpreters, but we do not guarantee any particular outcome of an interpreted interaction. Interpreters exercise independent professional judgment and are bound by the professional standards of their field, including applicable codes of professional conduct.

7. Fees and payment

Clients are billed for services as described in their Service Agreement and invoices. Interpreters are paid as described in their ICA. Unless stated otherwise in those agreements, invoices are due on the terms shown on the invoice.

8. Confidentiality and protected information

Assignments often involve sensitive and confidential information, including in some cases Protected Health Information. Everyone using the Platform agrees to handle such information responsibly and only as needed to provide or receive services, and to comply with applicable confidentiality and privacy obligations. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Platform. In particular, you will not:

10. Intellectual property

The Platform, including its design, text, and branding, is owned by ASL Connection or its licensors and is protected by applicable laws. You may use the Platform only as permitted by these Terms. Content you submit remains yours, but you grant us the limited right to use it as needed to operate the Platform and provide services to you.

11. Third-party services

The Platform relies on third-party services (for example, Google APIs for optional calendar sync and mapping). Your use of those features may also be subject to the third party's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

12. Disclaimers

Except as required by law or expressly stated in a signed agreement, the Platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ASL Connection will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Platform. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid to us (or, for interpreters, that we paid to you) in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ASL Connection harmless from claims and costs arising out of your misuse of the Platform or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

15. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access to the Platform if these Terms or a signed agreement are violated, or where necessary to protect the Platform or its users. You may stop using the Platform at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in Pierce County, Washington, unless a signed agreement provides otherwise.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms here with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
